Recently ISRO has launched PSLV (Polar Satellite launch Vehicle)-C33 carrying IRNSS-1G (Indian
Regional Navigation Satellite System) from Sriharikota. It was the last satellite in series of seven
navigation satellites which was launched. It would be India’s first such satellite for remote GPS
positioning and tracking. This will reduce our dependency on US Global Positioning System for which
we used to rely on them.
Whats App new feature launch
After 20min of launch PSLV-C33 has successfully launched the satellites in orbit. These satellites have
mission life of about 12 years and will be operational within a month’s time period. This will be really
helpful in aerial and marine navigation, vehicle tracking , fleet management, disaster management,
visual and voice recognition, in telecom sectors and in military operations too .
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has named it as ‘NAVIC’ which means Navigation with Indian
Constellation. Mr. Modi stated that it supports our ‘Make in India’ and ‘Made in India’ missions. In
world US, Russia, China, and European Union have their own such satellites system for navigation
and monitoring purposes. It would be beneficial for us in war like situations for positional accuracy
and counter enemy attack strategy. Long back US denied to give GPS information during Kargil War
in 1999,at that time India does not had such technology. According to ISRO officials the total cost of
all the satellites was Rs. 1,420 Crores. Finally India has achieved its goal and in path of becoming a
developed nation technically and economic wise.
For every Indian it is a matter of proud to be an Indian. Jai Hind !!
